MF 2009 Calendar Project

Hi Dirk,

All parts of Hasselblad promotion material are protected of course.

Dealers have samples of logos and lettering for promotional purposes.
They can use those samples as they see fit provided it serves the purpose of promotion and does not harm Hasselblad.

The calendar can de considered as such a purpose.
A friendly dealer will make the original logo available if necessary.
So far Jürgen has indicated he is not in favour of a Hasselblad logo for the calendar.

Hasselblad does not seem to spend much time to keep their site up to date.
Several products that are no longer available for at least a year are still displayed and advertised.

gary:
i like what seems to be an underexposure setting in jurgen's version; it brings more texture to the wood siding.

I was out and about in the rain this morning with my H3D-II/31, CF adapter and Zeiss 40IF ... and noticed that one of my neighbors demolished his shack and is rebuilding ... would this qualify for the calendar? :z04_sabber:

Is it true the architect of this tasteful cottage was executed on the spot as the owner found out what kind of delightful house the man had designed for him?

"Less is more" appears to have escaped the fellow's attention in Architectural school.

This photo is only a fraction of this overstatement ... it goes on and on in the back.

Marc

Well , investing about 3 million dollar could turn this castle into beautiful photographic studios . :)
I like your image , but it does not meet the criteria . It is the format .

Matt , one or two images are still welcome.
So , if you have one , go ahead .
The same is valid for Steve .

Regards Jürgen

OMG... can I have the shed back please? If my neighbor was building something like this I would take him to court. Or (preferably) do it the mob style: old oil drum and some concrete...

LOL!

Actually, this area of my neighborhood is populated with homes like this.

As to dealing with it "Mob style" ... it could well be me in the oil drum and concrete if I protest ... since Mobsters tend to like this sort of "Home Sweet Home."

hello all,
have you enough people for this project yet? do you need 1 more?
regards
matt

Long time no see Matt!

Better late than never.
I guess you made it just in time.
Jürgen decided to give posters another two weeks to come up with those pictures.

Jurgen,

I may have missed it in my walk thru this long thread.....but how would I go about ordering a few of these calendars when you have finished final preparations and are ready to begin printing/production? Having a spot in a calendar....this is a first for me. :)

Hi Gary,

What do you want first the good or the bad news?

Lets start with the good news: All participants will get a free copy of this calender at shipping cost.

The bad news, or even good depending on how you look at it, is this is a hand crafted limited edition.
It means less than 20 of these calendars will be made.

Hi Paul

thanks for this. I am moving home presently so a little dis-organised. I will PM a link of my possible images to you and Jotloob. If there are no images in line with what you are looking for that's ok.

regards
Matt.

Gary

The same question came up earlier also from other participants , and I must say , I do not really know how to handle it .

Getting a calendar printed and bound by a company , requires a minimum of 250 -300 pieces .
The paper quality is nothing in comparison to the arcival matte paper , I use .
So , I decided to do a little hand made serie , which I limited to 20 pieces .
I am not a person , who talks much about money , but to give you an impression , the cost for paper , ink , and shipping material is around 23 €.
Postage not included .
Every participant gets a free copy . All I would like you to do , is send me the money for the postage . You can do that via PAYPAL . No hurry .
Then there will be a free copy for the moderator and for Dirk , the forum owner as well as for Rick Nordin .
The calendar is not for sale and I do not earn a penny with it . But I enjoy the making and I think it will be a good calendar , hopefully bringing the members even more together again , personally and with or passion for photography .
My printing is in full process , regardless of an other one or two images which might still come in . If that should happen , there will be two images for two or three months .

I hope you and all participants will understand .

Best regards Jürgen

Thanks for the update Jurgen (and Paul)...I guess I just overlooked this when I walked thru this long thread originally. I understand completely and will be happy to have even one copy of this unique calendar! Jurgen...do you want to send me a PM re how much I should send you for shipping costs etc?

Thanks again for doing this special project!

Gary

"I am glad , that I could proceed so far , because in the next weeks I will be away quite often and work on other projects ."

Jürgen

Good to know you do not have time for the "lobsters" (135 mm Ektar lenses) so I can hang on to them for a while.

Paul

Jürgen,
I do not know what happened but I placed quote/unquote marks with your text.
The original post is not easy to find.

OK. Paul .

We dont know what happened .
Let me try to repeat , as far as I have the words still in mind .

@ Gary
do not send any money . Don't send anything .
The calendar printing is almost finished , regardless , if any more images will arrive at my place .

It happens to be , that your second transmitted image , was the first I printed . It turns out very well . It will be for August and it has no "glow" .

@ Matt
Thank you for your link and the interesting images .
I have been going through all of them , but there is none , which would match the desired topic .

I would like to thank all members , who participated so far in the project , and I would still like to encourage those , who still wanted to send an image .
It is still the 14th of September for an other 5 1/2 hours . Remember , that was the closing date .

I have printed a pre version , and all friends , who saw the that calendar liked it very much .

Regards Jürgen

G'Day to all!

Wow, so much has happened since my "flare-up" put me out of action for a while - I feel like Lazarus! It's FANTASTIC TO SEE HOW EVERYONE HAS NOW CHIPPED IN TO PROVIDE GREAT 6X6 IMAGES FOR JURGEN'S CLEVER CALENDAR PROJECT!

I think I can hear his printer furiously churning through the ink and paper all the way down-under here. Jurgen, thanks for the preview of the cover - it looks great.

Yes, Marc it was lovely to see the Hunter Valley mansion - complete with a spare wheel. And, of course Jurgen has the pleasure of working with your superb scans. Of course that great scanner needs your skilled hands "at the wheel" to get the best out of it.

Catching up on the posts here since I've been out of action was a lot of fun - SO MANY SUPERB IMAGES. All of them (film and CFV) are a great reminder of why so many of us passionately shoot 6x6 V series - the beautiful detail, colour, sharpness etc etc etc.. Despite the limited 72 dpi we see over the web, I must say I find it hard to pick the film frames against the CFV frames.

Well done to Marc for suggesting to the 2 CFV shooters that they join in - welcome gentlemen!

NOW WE WILL HAVE A TRULY MULTI-NATIONAL AND MULTI-CULTURAL 2009 CALENDAR.

Jurgen, I suppose we should all now consider any additional copies we want to buy. I certainly would like 4 additional calendars (possibly more) myself. THIS REMINDS ME that very early on I think we all agreed that we all want to (and insisted) pay for any additional calendars we ask for - we send you the money and then you send the calendars.

Of course I am sure everyone will agree that while we have gratefully accept your huge generosity for a calendar each; we must pay you for any additional calendars - the cost of the inks, paper, binding, packaging and postage is very significant and none of us want you to be out of pocket.

I can't imagine how many hours of a labour of love you will finally have put in - the great success of this unique calendar and your subject idea is a fitting tribute to your skills and dedication. WELL DONE!

Thanks again.

Simon,

I am glad you are back again after being absent for too long.
Your relaxed comment was certainly missed.

Marc pointed out this forum is about photography so where are the pictures?
He asked a couple of guys who were shooting MF to join the Hasselbladinfo forum.
That has generated a lot of traffic. You have a lot of reading to do.

Gr,
Paul
