The bent hood can be straighted out by a camera repair man. The repair may not be beautiful, but the camera will be funcitional.

For some funny reason they asked me to insure the camera for twice the recorded value......
Gr,
Paul
Well, yes, it looks repairable. But Jürgen is one of these people striving for the best of the best so doing it properly in his eyes is a bit more involved than "hammering out the dent". I can only agree with his view by the way.
"Either you do or you don't, there is no try" (quote from Yoda, the Jedi master).

Wilko,
I did not say hammer it out. This has to be done carefully and slowly by a repair person who knows how to repair this damage.
Failing that, send it to me and I will provide a retirement home for it where it will be kept in the company of other retired cameras.
"Either you do or you don't, there is no try" (quote from Yoda, the Jedi master). Should read "Either you do or you don't, no try there is."

Paul,
it was a Landrover gearbox and nobody was ever able to prove that it really was a Hasselblad SW what we found in the shoebox.

I believe , there is nothing else to say .

ps:
I like the "Sicherheit" labels very much.
Sicherheit means safety for those who do not speak German.
The seller must have shoved the camera with force into that little box. It looks too small.
Jürgens good looking, that is before the damage caused in transit, SWA camera was shipped by a guy who owns a camera store.
That makes it all the more strange that this piece of Hasselblad history was packed like a pack of nails like Simon says.
To be absolutely save I bought a new pair of shoes and paid special attention to get shoes with a strong card board box.
Jürgen will like the shoebox and the contents even better I hope.
