How will I ever remember which lens, aperture and distance to the subject were used when I made the picture. /QUOTE]
Do like I do - buy a $30 digital mini recorder, and use it in the field to record whatever data you choose for each shot. I used a micro cassette for this since 1982, but recently bought a Radio Shack digital mini recorder which is much lighter, and easier to use.
I record shutter & aperture, lens in use, any filters in place, and anything else I feel pertinent. And I also record anything about the scene that might be of use later, like where it was.
Simple.
