V Series Lens Hoods

Colin

It seems to me , that you never really saw a bavarian Lederhosen . They are made of real deerleather , like the bellow of a LF LINHOF . LINHOF is from munich , the holy capital of all bavarians , but they (the Lederhosen) are not produced in the Hofbräuhaus .
The side pockets , left and right , (bavarians are able to distinguish between left and right)
are closed by a 6x9 LF LINHOF backframe with a safety cover , and the big front pocket is made of a 8x10 backframe with a sheetfilmholder to close it . Some guys might need a smaller front pocket , and therefore you can get the Lederhosen also with a 4x5 backframe .
But that is optional . The Hosenträger , again left and right , are made of HASSELBLAD standard strap (NR 3059110) for the 4x5 model and with the contoured shoulder strap
(NR 3059099) for the 8x10 model . The cost for such a Lederhosen , depending on the model (4x5 or 8x10) varies between 450€ and 600€ excluding the straps and V.A.T.
The straps can be decorated with HASSELBLAD filters (blue and white) or better , when worn on a sunday , with CARL ZEISS SOFTARs . All with Baj.60 . Are we OFF TOPIC now ? ? ?

The straps can still be found in the V-SYSTEM catalogue from 2005 , page 57 , top . This is a reference to the english version of the catalogue . As far as i know , there has never been a bavarian edition available .

My family knows something about Bavarian Lederhosen, as Salzburg is the site of our family beginnings. Lederhosen literally means “leather pants” and is traditional folk costume worn in the mountainous regions of Bavaria and Austria. Bavarian fashion is not only for roaming around or yodeling during Oktoberfest.

I personally have visited Salzburg Austria about 10 times, and having stayed in the central city at the Golden Adler hotel (built in 1200 AD), had the opportunity to shop in local stores for Lederhosen.

Suspenders range from very simple to very elaborate, with embroidery in varying colors. Lederhosen comes in two basic styles, short and long pants. One would not go to Oktoberfest without wearing traditional Lederhosen.

Friedrichshafen is a traditional short pants version with suspenders. They are cut just above knee, and made in Germany and can be had for $319 (2006 prices)

Jettingen is the traditional short pants, in black with elaborate embroidery, characteristic of Bavarian Plattler Lederhosen which start at $229. Embroidery can be selected to region, clubs, or family crests. They are made from buckskin, laoponia, goat suede, or cowhide. Traditional colors are in green, black or natural with corresponding embroidery colors.

Koblenz is traditional style of long lederhosen (down to ankles) and starts at about $369. On sale they run $289.

At my age, I prefer the long version, with mountain boots and thick wool socks for hiking. I worked in Austria as an Architect on Ski Resorts for 3 years.

I was talking about a very special model , the HASSI photographers model which you will not find in any catalogue . It's strikly made on demand only . Please understand my last contribution as a joke . I must get rid of my frustration because of my CFV back .

Jürgen:

All things considered, you have a great since of humor.

Richard:

Thanks for the information.

Jürgen,

Wasn't that thingie a Hasselblad Boutique item once?
With yellow and blue Gemsbart?

Richard,

That's Koblenz in Switzerland, right?
No offense, of course, but i'm not sure German Koblenzers would be pleased to be associated with, or mistaken for the Lederhosen wearing Kulturkreis.

Jurgen:

I agree. You have remained 'on topic' - enough. ;-)

Question: If Linhof cease the 6x9 backframe Nr.978634001, will the hosen be made without closures?

PS. In Australia, the German-Australian community wear Krokodil-lederhosen. I have captured several crocodiles, but none have been wearing their hosen, unfortunately.

Thank you for this information - it is new to me - although I bought my infant son a pair in Heidelberg about 60 years ago!
