1600F + Tessar 80mm lens - first impressions

Hi,
I have just come back from Sweden. Had a pancake buffet at Astrid Lindgen's World. I had more than two pancakes... I had my worst looking short barrel Tessar with me as this was the lens that was originally delivered with the 1000F that I took with me. The camera is not in its original condition anymore as a previous owner had done unbelievable things to it (e.g. letting the chrome corrode, drilling holes in the bottom to glue in screws to mount it into an obscure macro-setup, tripod plates and bottom leatherette were ruined this way). The camera also acted as donor for an original screen (with a "V" in the middle) to allow a gentleman in Australia to have the right screen in his pretty 1600F. The original lens shade is also not here at the moment so that a similar Tiffen shade was used. Therefore this camera is not an original condition showcase item but an ugly user camera that still has a fine shutter and carries a modern tripod plate and a bright screen.

@ Jürgen,
trouble is that I can not give away pancakes without the toppings* they were delivered with. That would leave me with the cream and blueberries only.

Ulrik, what a sad litany of torture your 100F has suffered!! :)

I suppose that the only light on the horizon for her was the knowledge that one of its organs was donated to a deserving patient!! :) :) :)

Above all the patient is very well, alive and above all greatly cherished by those in her new home - the adoption has been a great success. The donor's help and organ are greatly appreciated!

She is happily working part time; still has a great body; has an excellent appetite for film and a sexy twinkle in her eye when at just the right angle to the sun!

Her new parent is, above all, very very grateful to the parent that adopted her out; the donor of the vital organ; the surgeon who oversaw the "make-over"!!!!

I can very well live without pancakes , as I prefer redwine and filet steak anyway .:z04_bier01:
And lobster , like KODAK EKTAR 3,5/135

Jürgen,

A fresh supply of lobsters will be on its way from California next week.
Good chance I will find a usefull Ektar 135 in that lot.
Of course only for those who do not have a 135mm Ektar yet.

An exception can be made for unfortunate creatures who have lenses suffering from mushrooms of course.......

I had this sadly abused camera in my hands in the horrible state it was in as Ulrik got the camera.
It was unbelievable what a "butcher" had done to that camera.
The focusing screen was in excellent condition, it even has the little "v" in the center.
That screen came to mind as Simons beautifull camera was sent to me by Jürgen for a service and the fitting of a better screen.

I seem to have a constant flow of cameras and things that need attention from certain FUC members so that I can "persuade" a victim like Ulrik to say goodbye to a clean focusing screen like the one that now lives in Australia.

BTW Ulrik your SWA camera is doing fine.
There is a good chance you will see that camera back sometime this year unless of course I need some more spare parts of course.....

There will still be a good and comfortable home for that beauty in my new glascabinet .

A mistake with an address label is made quite easily.
I only wish for Ulrik it does not hapen with a certain SWA camera.

As you can see from the picture "Champignon Technologies" I will do whatever is necessary to restore older lenses.
I passed this Dutch company on my way to some new goodies for my collection.
They were very interested to find new ways to grow mushrooms.

All of you 1600/1000F lovers and officiandos might remember my comments a while ago just aftter my adoption of Jurgen's baby to a warmer life in Oz - comments that it is a very rare occasion to see an Aussie shooter talk about Victor's "pioneers".

So, in the late afternoon yesterday, I took her in to show her off to some friendly acquaintances in a favourite used Hassy gear store. They thought she was sensational :) :) :)

They were especially amazed by the "shorty" Zeiss Planar 80mm lens.

But then I had to make a quick exit so she was soon being admired and baby-sat by triage nurses in the local A&E.

Th comments about mushrooms etc reminds me that I must "re-heat" my silica packs - I keep some in every camera bag, case and spot where I keep any camera gear. While we don't usually have much humidity here in the down-under part of down-under, I never leave gear for any amount of time without those little packs.
 
A good store with a nice selection of used photo gear is a joy forever.

I have been thinking of setting up a nice store as a meeting place for individuals with the same interest in Hasselblad cameras.
Not to make lots of money just for fun and an occasional sale of a lens or other parts for the system.

All this Ebay business with the risk of ending up with a bunch of mushrooms in a newly acquired lens does not make buying more attractive.

Germans have invented the "Stammtisch" for that sort of thing.
A reserved table or area in a bar or restaurant where people that share the same interest in cars, music or whatever can meet.
Often once a month to have some fun together, talk about a shared interest and other topics as well.
I visit a few of those meetings regularly.
Besides Hasselblad there a few other things that interest me.

I am sure you do not want to misplace the old wide angle camera of someone who has to live with ancient cameras like this butchered 1000F or the bag of worn parts that once used to be a 1600F. Not to speak of the 2000FCW that I bought and which came without shutter and mirror assembly. At the same time you are speaking of lobsters and it appears that there is a number of 135 mm Ektar lenses around without me having seen them. This is a frustrating business :).

If I did not know better I would really feel sorry for you.
It seems your memory is not so good where your camera stock is concerned.
A reliable source tells me you have the largest collection of excellent 1000F cameras in the world.
I am sure you selected the old butchered 1000F for your last trip because it now has a convenient fast coupling plate fitted to its body.

Anyway I promise excellent pictures for some new goodies that are on the way.
In about a week you can expect those here in this thread.

Your SWA is in excellent hands, not mine btw, and will be ready for action in a couple of weeks.

If I do not make a mess of address labels you stand a fair chance the camera will end up with you.

Don't believe that .
I know some very reliable people at the DHL which will replace your address label by mine . This is of course only valid for the SWA parcel .

Lobsters are swimming around in Germany now . Some might not taste as good as others , but they are still lobsters .
You will see them , at least on an image soon , but when our FUC friend Simon from Australia will be visiting Europe , then we will have a meeting , I will invite all FUC members for a dinner . And then you can see the lobsters .:z04_photos:

Who says I will be using DHL/DP?
In these difficult times I have to watch expenses very carefully.

I have found a shipper called van Gend en Spoorloos that offers remarkable low tariffs for shipping.
Transalation of their name is van Gend en Trackless.
That does not bother me as long as I have proof of shipping.

After delivering the goods to their office it is a matter for the addressee to find out where the parcel is gone.
Of course without tracking facility this will not be easy.
BTW they are very good at lobster transports......

I am sorry to say , but if you use that shipping company , you are lost .
That company belongs to me and my employees do all , I tell them . I pay them for looking at a SWA parcel addressed to Ulrik .

Looking for a chrome DISTAGON 50mm , the earliest possible number in best condition only . No UPS shipping please .

This picture proves that my description of your collection of 1000F cameras is quite accurate.
This is one of the lesser 1000F cameras for which many would give an arm and possibly a leg as well to own a beauty like this.
The camera does not only look good but is a great performer too.
I have that from an inside source which I cannot reveal, sorry for that.

It now makes sense why so many parcels with Italy as destination do not reach their destination.
Everybody thinks Italian Post is making a mess when in fact your transport company diverts all those parcels to Algovia.
Despite that you still have the nerve to ask for a nice early 50 mm Distagon?
Shame on you!

BTW I have an excellent rare 50 mm silver Distagon with T* for sale.
The oldest 50 mm Distagon I have is a 1965 model lens.
Besides that there is a very good early 40 mm Distagon the rare model without T* as well.

I see I am not the only one who is acquiring a taste for early 500 series cameras and lenses.

No early 50 mm Distagon for sale.
Only later ones and also a rare silver T* Distagon.
Early lenses in good condition are getting rare.

We are all getting keen to see sample images from the 135mm and the 50mm very soon!! :)
