Hasselblad V Series Images

Hi Gary,

First of all thanks for adding those nice small letters to your forum name.
It means we can welcome you as another supporter of this forum.

Of course you have from now on facilities to upload larger files and the chance
to set up your own gallery as well as full use of the classified section.
All those facilities for a mere 3 USD a month.

Writing results in red means Dirk is paying part of the cost to keep this forum afloat out of his own pocket.
He does that for some time now. I would like to help Dirk and all the users as well
by turning that situation into a healthy balance were the results can be written in black.
Red and black are mostly bankers sayings in Europe as far as I know.

This forum is a quiet place. No noisy banners or other graphic means to attract attentention from users.
If ever a mild form of advertising will be allowed it will be quiet and tasteful.

Thanks!

Paul

Sorry to be stupid, but I waist 5 minutes to folows links to get info for subscription and fee. And I didn't find. Why not inserting a direct link ?

BTW, is it possible to submit without been written in a red list, and without using tracable money transfer ?

I agree..I spent a lot more than 5 minutes trying to sort out the subscription. You need an always displayed "Subscribe to forum" one click button. Also an occasional notice "pimping" the benefits of being a member would also help.

Steve

Steve,

Thanks for your persistance and the time you spend to make your support possible.

Blowupster,

Your point is well noted. You are absolutely right.
Recently I tried to subscribe to check the procedure and was lost too after a little while.
This is one of the points already on my list to discuss with Dirk in a few weeks while we meet users who are visiting the Photo Kina.
I will send you a PM to explain how to become a Medium Format Club member.

This certainly looks like a 50 mm.
Whether it was a CF or a CFi is impossible to see.

Another life like shot that proofs the quality of film and Hasselblad.

Thanks!

And the 750 quality too.
Great pics Gary. Can you briefly explain your scan workflow? Thx
I have a few RR yard pictures too. Need to scan them tough.

CFi for sure...that's the only 50mm I have. What I meant to question is whether it was my 50mm or 80mm. I haven't used these lenses enough yet to quickly and confidently spot the difference between angle of view etc. I've gotten so used to having the EXIF info from my DSLR image files that I'm now out of the habit of recording the details when I shoot film. I used to be pretty rigorous and organized on that count...not anymore.

I've always been impressed with the quality of medium format film and it still holds up well. Mostly I've shot Mamiya TLR and Pentax 67 over the past 25 years, until I got the Hasselblads in 2007.

And the 750 quality too.

I used an Epson 2450 scanner for many years until I bought the V750 Pro last year, about the same time I got the Hasselblads. The V750 seems to do an excellent job for a mid-priced flat bed scanner.....I think it captures more dynamic range in the negative or transparency than the 2450 did.

My scanning workflow.....it's pretty simple as I'm not an expert by any means. The Silverfast Ai v6 software offers alot of control etc which I haven't utilized to the fullest yet....I mostly run on auto with a few adjustments where I can figure them out. I've still got a lot to learn!

Good Day Everybody:

I have been a long time browser on this forum but this is a first time posting.

As there is a request for recent V series images, I though I would throw my hat into the ring.

These are a couple of low res jpegs recently taken in the Torngat Mountains in Northern Labrador. (Northeastern Canada)

They were taken with a very old 500C paired up with a very new Phase One P20+ back.

Thanks for the oportunity to post and apologies in advance if this doe not work due to button/finger trouble.

Geoff

Great images Geoff. Have you seen Bernhard Edmaier's photos? I really like his work. Reminds me of your photos. He uses a 203FE I think.

Here are a couple of pics from my recent trip to Berlin. Taken with 905 SWC. The first two are Ilford Delta 100 and the last is HP5 pushed one stop.

Interesting, I have more or less the same set of pictures from Berlin but
then in color. E100 slides to be exact. I think I have some of them posted
in the "My favorite lens" subject in this forum.

Hello Geof,

Thanks for your first post here and the chance you gave us to look at the overwhelming nature in Canada.

The same thanks goes to all other recent posters that were motivated by Marc's invitation to post here.
After all this is a forum about photography.
Marc, thanks a lot for your push in the right direction.

Uploading larger files is possible for those who joined the Medium Format club.
Besides larger files you are also allowed to upload more and even have your own gallery.
Upload of pictures up to 585 Kb is possible, max 1200 x 1200 pixels.

The second blue bar has a section MF-control Panel.
Open that, go to miscellaneous.
In that section you find subscription, click that and follow instructions.
It says a choice of payments methods is possible.
That is not correct. So far only PayPal payments are offered.

Dirk who owns this forum is apparently not a shrewd business man.
He has made the process of subscribing complicated so that only real fanatics have succeeded in subscribing.
That will be easier I hope in a couple of weeks.
For a mere 25 euro, that is about 37 USD. you help support this forum that is not making a profit.
That pays your subscription for a year.

This is a quiet place without loud banners or other graphic distractions that invite you to spend money on
insurance or other non photography related matters.

ps
Clicking CI Club in the top blue bar gets you nowhere!

It's a great deal and I have been here for years and didn't know anything about it. I suspect that things will change , a bit, after Kina.

Steve

Thanks for the comments on the photos.

I have not seen Bernhard Edmaier's photos but will keep an eye out for them.

I have a soft spot for Black and Whites and enjoy seeing the ones that are posted here.

Goeff

Thank you for posting these very good nature images .

There is a book from Bernhard Edmaier . It is called EARTHSONG .
30x36 cm 230 pages . All in color .
It is a book with thrilling images from our globe , most of us will possibly never see life .
For me , it is one of the most exciting photo books at all .
As far as I know , all images are taken with HASSELBLAD cameras and CZ lenses . But I could not find the types .

If you are interested in the ISBN number , just PM me .

Regards Jürgen

Thanks for the info Jürgen. I will be sure to look up the publication.

In the meantime, here are a few more Labrador shots taken with the 500C.

Regards
Geoff
