Hasselblad V Series Images

Hi Dirk ... when are you going to get a Hassey and post here with us ... LOL!

:)

I would love to have a digital MF camera. But prices are out of range for me. And I do not shoot slides anymore. Just no time for the whole process at the moment...

Best wishes

Thanks Dirk for the help..I fall into the category of trying to teach "an elderly canine" new tricks. For other who may be in the same situation, could you post the jpeg export settings that give the best results for posting images? It appears that there are compromises that must be made, for size and quality, so as not to exceed the max file size..Is that correct?

Steve

Steve: Thanks for your kind words.
Keith: Your work is truly beautiful. Too bad you won't post pics anymore.
Dirk: Could it be possible to split this thread in pages? Like anywhere else?
In one month time, it will be a pain to download the whole page to read.

Let's try Dirk mode.

Yes this is correct. But I am not a photoshop Guru, so I ake my "dummy changes" in photoshop as follow:

After the image is looking like you want it to look, go within photoshop to the navigation bar "file" and in that drop-down menu click on "save for web...".

Now a new window is opening with the titel "save for web". On the upper right hand border of that screen, there is a tiny little black triangle - directly below the button "finish".

Click on that triangle. A drop-down menu appears. Click in that drop-down menu on "optimize file size". A small window pops up. Enter in the box within this small window the maximum allowed file size in KB - on this board it is 585KB. Click "o.k." Now you are back in the old screen and see the optimized image with 585 KB.

I do not know by heart whether this KB size is only for Hasselblad Club members and the other normal members have a lower KB size. You can check this in teh upload scren. There it is written, what you are alowed to do for your userlevel. If you want to upgarde, just go to your Control panel and choose your level.

worked well :)

Yes, we can change the number of posting displayed on one page within a thread. But in teh past, the majority of suers wanted to habve it without the page breaks.

As soon as the majority wants to change this,, we can change it. But it might alos make sense to open a new thread for each photo so thta the photo gets 100% attention each time.

I will leave in a few hours on vacataion. Will be back right at photokina. we will report from there (the Camera-info Team). I will seldom check my e-mail during the vacation. But Paul is here the master anyway ;)

Maybe some of you guys are at Photokina? We could meet somewhere?

Best wishes

Oh man, you are going for a ball. I'm jealous.
I wonder if it is possible to attend a major trade show like Kina or PMA as an everyday person, or one needs to be working in the industry?
Have fun
Eduardo

Hi Eduardo,

Do not envy us too much.
We are actually working at the Photo Kina.

Dirk is no longer logged in so I can tell you he is not giving us a chance to look

at all the goodies. :z02_zek:

The CI stand is open from 13.00 till 18.00 hours on Saturday the 27th.
We are in the restaurant area.
Come over, we can have a beer and talk pictures.

Next day is even more exciting.
A camera fair at the Wienerplatz where you can find used equipment.
Anything from APS till 8" x!0"
This fair is not Kina but a smart move from an independant organiser.
Lots of visitors from China and Japan.

Hi

the Photokina is the biggest Photo show worldwide. A lot bigger then PMA and also more important for the industry.

Everybody can visit the photokina. You have to buy a ticket of course, but on most days, it is open for everybody.

Only on 1 or 2 days, it is only for the people of the industry and press of course. For example we will be there on the very first day (23.9.) just because we are the so called "press" and so theer is space to move and to make pictures and interviews - at least we always hope for this :)

It is a great atmosphere and if you have never been there, I would recomend to go there at least once if you are living close of cologne or can arrange business trips to it.

As Paul mentioned, we have a user meeting there on saturday 27.9. in the afternoon in a restaurant close (by feet) to the photokina. If you someone is interested, just post in this forum, we will give more details...

Regarding upload without grey border, here is the screenshot-description:

Please forgive my typos, but it is alraeyd late here in germany, and I still have to pack my luggage  ( do not tell my wife...) :z04_wife:

Gary, love the plant (nettle?) shot.

Hi Keith,

I'm no plant expert and not sure what this is......it was in my garden when we bought the house 12 years ago. It's a perennial and very hardy, that's about all I know. A good looking foliage plant which gets small yellow flowers.

(Hey everyone ... you can upload images to 1200 pixels @ 585 ppi ... so why the tiny little uploads? This is one of the best features of this site ... you can load MF images bigger than most other sites!)

Hi Marc. When I upload images it says the maximum size for a .jpg file is 600 x 600 ppi (127 kb). Maybe you get to upload a larger size image as a CI-Club member?

Love the hood ornament image!

Gary

That is correct Gary. You have free upload facilities up to 130 KB per image as a guest and free use of the classified section.
Upload is limited to 1 image a day / 7 per week, total disc space 10 MB

For Medium Format Club members the upload per image is 500KB with 1000MB disc space.
That is enough for 200 large uploads or 800 smaller ones.
Enough room to fill your own gallery. Marc has a couple of hundred pics in his gallery.

I thought I'd try to encourage members to post more images by starting this dedicated thread for our (recent?) Hasselblad V series images.

Chios, Greece. 50mm CFi, Velvia 100, 1/60sec f11. Scanned on ancient Epson flatbed.

Keith.....just wanted to say how much I like your photos of Chios and the "Found Paintings" series. Great color and composition!

I wish there was more color like that up here.

Another one of mine from the Alaska Railroad yards along Ship Creek here in Anchorage.

501CM, 50mm CFi (I think), Ilford Delta 100, Epson V750 Pro

Nice to be able to post larger images now! :)

Sorry to be stupid, but I waist 5 minutes to folows links to get info for subscription and fee. And I didn't find. Why not inserting a direct link ?

BTW, is it possible to submit without been written in a red list, and without using tracable money transfer ?

Thanks Gary...the grass is always greener...I rather wish we had more snow here ;-)

Keith

If you don't have enough snow at your place , come to the beautiful Allgäu (ALGOVIA) .
I will give you a shovel and you will be busy from December till mid of April .:)
