Nice to see some work from the seventies.
That is about the time I started using Hasselblad cameras.
Do not be shy and show us also what you are up to now.
As far as I understood everything is there to continue along these lines.

Trials and tribulations of a newbie!
I just picked up my second roll of film today and in just about every frame I managed to skew the horizon line by about 10 degrees! I'm wondering if this is normal for someone new to using MF and a WLF on the camera? Did others on the forum have the same problem when they first started? I've never had a problem with getting 35mm images level so it came as quite a surprise. But I figure that once I get used to seeing everything in reverse and moving the camera accordingly to line up the shot then I should be OK.
I've included a few images - I straightened most of them in Photoshop and the other I deliberately shot on an angle because I got so fed up with trying to get it straight.
Shot with Fuji Pro400H, Hasselblad 503CW with 80mm Planar CFi f/2.8 lens (the only one I have!).
BTW, I've really enjoyed looking at everyone else's images on this forum.

Not sure if it is any consolation but you are not the only one. I have moved to using an AM-D checkerboard/split-image screen, that helps tremendously. A WLF with only the X-hair screen was something that gave me heartburn. These days I use a 45 degr prism on the checkerboard/split-image screen and all is well.
YMMV and all that

Focusing screens
Focusing screens are a personal choice.
Some users prefer plain screens that do not distract them from the subject.
Others go for screens with grid and split.
Grid and split is most wanted either the early non D version with p.n.42170 of the D version p.n. 42217.
Difference between the early and the later D type screens?
Focusing on brightly lit subjects is easier with the later D type screens.
All Acute Matte screens are a great help as they are about two stops brighter than non AM screens.

It helps to know that more experienced shooters have had the same problems. After I posted my last message I thought of some things that I should have done that may have produced better results. The learning curve is steep. I'll try using a tripod next time. If I can't get that level I'm in trouble!!!

Does it have 2 little D-shaped cutouts in the metal frame (pull the WLF off to check that)? If so, it is the latest and greatest AcuteMatte D version.

I too had problems getting the horizon straight, and attributed the problem to hand holding the camera while looking straight down the WLF. It throws off your equilibrium I think. It's also just plain hard to get your bearings looking down, even when you concentrate! A tripod, level, and cross hairs now make it easier.

Kim's issue with getting the square frame straight is like having a middle ear infection! Balance! But after time we get there.
I find the trick is to use one line marked on the screen as the "horizon" - get it to level something in the image. But above all: "practice makes perfect".
It is amazing how our brains struggle with the unusual - like having our sight reversed!
Great shooting guys! I must say that Acros 100 is my favourite B&W film - just superb.
By the way, in case anyone is interested I shot a roll of 5 years out of date Sensia 100 in my XPan a week ago - exposures were perfect. Maybe good film is like good wine after all!

I'm sorry to admit that I haven't used the 40mm CFE IF lens much yet.....just as I haven't used the 503CWD/CFV back much either, so I can't give much of a report, other than to say I like what I've seen thus far. I really need to get out and use it more often....the results of the few images I took on this trip with the 503CWD etc were much better than identical shots I took with my Canon 5D and 24-105mm f4 L series lens.
I will try to get out there and take more photographs so I can report back soon!

I am desperate and think of selling all my camera gear and buy a gigantic umbrella . Then it will be dry , but I will not have any gear anymore .
What shall I do ? ? ?
I think , I will emigrate to O.Z. I have a very good friend down there .
And he has already shown me homes , where I could live .
