X2D L Bracket

Everyone has their own needs and way of working, so it’s good that there’s a suitable system for everyone... :)

I like the Leofoto L-bracket on the X2Dii very much, having bought it when RRS was delayed in getting theirs out. However, I just received the Peak Design Pro tripod I committed to via their Kickstarter and it is an ingenious and remarkable tripod. The only problem is that the locking mechanism doesn’t work with the design of an L-bracket. So, one seems to have to make a choice — the convenience of an L-bracket, or the convenience of Peak Design’s plate and locking mechanism. My guess is that the PD Pro is going to become my tripod for most uses.

My last stop on the X2D L-bracket journey is the Falcam cage. I find it’s construction premium, I really appreciate the AirTag location. My only negatives are that it doesn’t have a Quick Detach socket, and the screw on the L arm does not have a retention system so that when not needed, it comes loose in your camera bag.
