Hi Jurgen,
"Carl
I made it a golden rule for me , when I have bought any electronic equipment today , not to look for the price tomorrow ."
We are well practised at this, over the past ten years we have been purchasing computer equipmenta and used to wait for the latest model to arrive and then purchase knowing that there was something new on the horizon. We knew that this would start happening to digital cameras, we were one of the first to purchase a Fuji DS300 at £1,800 (3,000USD)
for 1.3MB professional range finder camera. Within the year Nikon, Canon pushed out their 35mm DSLR range for around the £4,000 or was it £7,000 mark? Of course most DSLR's are now well within the £2,000 range and higher specified.
The difference here is that magazines and manufactuers of computer equipment would indicate what was in the pipeline so that a delay in purchase would be to some advantage against loss in value.
However, this should not happen within a month, especially as Hasselblad indicaticated by email that they were not aware of any reduction in prices in the near future. So whilst we can be philosophical about it we are just a little tad agrieved on this ocassion.
Will see how the situation evolves.
cheers, Carl
