Please can we ban the word Hassy from this site?

How about we judge photographers by their photos?
What a sensible idea! Most of us are no good at words anyway. :)
Some discussions set my head spinning.

Oh dear. Well I’m afraid I get such disparaging comments on my photos I had to stop sharing!
Well Patrick, disparaging commentors probably have nothing worthwhile viewing anyway. The point about your photos is that , if you took them, you probably like them! Who cares if nobody else appreciates your work. Presumably you took them for your own pleasure anyway. Enjoy and be proud of your work.

Yeah, ban "Hassy." Ban "Blad." And we can decide on other words later. Just what this world needs, language police. Get a life. You may have some control issues. May, LMAO.

Sorry BigSteveG and others, I'm not for banning anything, but my 50 year love affair with the Hasselblad camera system has lead me to feel a beautifully engineered
camera system deserves the respect its full name delivers.
Feel free to put wide wheels and go-faster strips on your Chevrolet and drive your Chevvy to the levy but please call a Hasselblad a Hasselblad.

Mini rant over, I'll get back in my box.

Happy New year every body.:)
Could not agree more

While I agree with posts expressed re language policing and banning or not banning specific words etc. I think an amicable solution would be for the word Hassy, blad, Hblad or any derivatives thereof be autocorrected to Hasselblad. I've encountered forums on other subjects where this was automatically done. The owners of the boards did not want people to use certain abbreviations for certain terms. While there was no rule against using them, they had in place a kind of autocorrect for specific abbreviations.

Once you pressed post on your message the text would be published with the abbreviations automatically changed to the full word. In this case Hassy would be automaticaly changed to Hasselblad. I don't know if this forum supports such a feature. It would be one method of achieving a desired outcome. Personally, I like to type Hasselblad. If people want to abbreviate it, I don't care. As long as I can understand the message. I think in the vast majority of cases if somebody types Hassy, Blad, H'Blad or some other derivative of same, I'll get what they are driving at.
