Well said Marc.. Basically the way to make sure everything works together correctly is making sure all the components (body, back, etc) are within tolerance. Once that is ensured all combinations of the components are within tolerance and All Is Well(TM).
Hello everybody... this is my first post here. I've been shooting with a Canon 5D and a variety of L lenses since December '05 and recently I decided to broaden my horizons and check out MF and LF photography. MF 6x6 was my first choice - I find the square format strangely inspiring - so, I've just ordered a 503CW and I can't wait for it to arrive!
The CVF looks pretty amazing and I've been reading all your comments with great interest, thankyou to everybody for sharing your insights. At the moment, I can't really justify the additional expense for something which is only a "little bit" better than my current digital rig, especially if there might be an even better one about to be announced... so I think I'm going to resist the (very strong) urge to order it for a few weeks after the camera arrives.
This will enable me to get used to the camera itself and to enjoy spending some time on the contemplative side of film photography rather than the more smash-and-grab digital world. Of course, if we see a CVF II announced in a few weeks, that will probably be enough to break my resolve quite quickly! If no CVF II is announced, I'll probably end up getting the CVF anyways, because this thread has just convinced me
