Do not tell anyone. This is supposed to be secret.

Hello guys,

I just logged in after a hectic trip to somewhere land.
To be honest I have not got he faintest idea where I am.
That should give some indication how secret this mission is.

I took of from Duesseldorf Airport at 4 pm and landed somewhere at eleven this evening.
Tomorrow I will be picked up from my hotel by a company car who will deliver me to the place where it is all happening.

As soon as I know more you will read about it in this thread.

Top secret mission accomplished

I just received a call from overseas .

Paul's mission is accomplished .

Manny , many thanks to the special agent PAUL .
I believe , that his mission is absolutely unique . In what ever forum you will look , you will find nothing of the kind .

And here is the object of the top secret desire .

View attachment 1307

More detailed images will follow , when the object of desire is in my hands .
It is a HASSELBLAD SWA built in the year 1954 in absolutely top condition .
As far as I have heard , it will not be shipped in a shoe box .

Now , here my greatest admiration and congratulation for his success .

But , and I have to say that , his success prevented him of beeing thrown into prison . Some mental pressure seems to be good for a good job .

:z04_carrot: :z04_sabber: :z04_sabber: :z04_sabber: :z04_carrot: Many , many thanks to Paul . Jürgen

This camera is what the French call the "Piece de resisitance".
It is the final missing piece in Juergens unique collection of extremely beautiful early Hasselblad cameras.

Thanks to Ulrik who gave the tip where to find this beauty and Juergens persistance this is the camera he has been waiting for many years.

Juergen suggested the camera to be sent but I would not dare trust this excellent SWA to whatever shipping company you can think of.
The SWA comes to Germany with me as cabin luggage.
The camera will not be out of my sight during the whole flight back.

It was a pleasure but not an easy task to complete this mission.
I had to beat other buyers from three different continents.

Most important the camera is safely sitting next to me when I write this post.

Juergen,

I am too old to spend the last years of my life in a chilly prison.
Besides that I am not dumb enough to take that kind of risk.

You know a kind word can do wonders for someone who wants to accomplish his goal.
Like a famous gangster I know a kind word and a loaded gun are the best means to get what you want.
My kind word was enough this time.
I did not even have to show the Kalashnikof.

And here sits the happiest HASSELBLAD collector in the world .

I have gone through a lot of "painful" hours , always thinking of putting my fingers into my ears and sitting in the deep dark cellar of my house , until the final call of relief came .

I am already thinking of how to arrange a family photo .
The VINTAGE QUEEN (1600F original body, lens and back, as per the HASSELBLAD ledger books) , the 1000F , the SW and now the SWA + all the CZ lenses and the two available KODAK EKTARS .
That makes my vintage collection complete .
I can hardly believe it . I am breathless .

Thank you Paul so much .
I will suggest you for a promotion to SUPER MODERATOR .

Well , not really looking for new gear at the moment .

Happy Jürgen

What is next on the top list ? ? ?

Gorgeous! So what is at the top of your missing list now? That 60?

Carsten

Yes , a DISTAGON 5,6/60 in excellent condition .
And with a distance scale in meters .

But that has time , although I would not say no , when such a lens turns up .
As I said , excellent condition only . Hard to find in Europe and the one from the U.S. all have a feet scale .

Jürgen

Jürgen,
I am glad to see that you got the camera that I happened to find. Paul, if you are still at that secret destination, please bring me a block of gjetost with you. My children love that cheese. Unfortunately it looks like semtex, so be a bit careful when checking in at the airport.

Hello Ulrik

Of course I am happy that you found this opportunity . And as I do not speak the language of the seller , I did not even think of the possibility to get that camera and therefore just skipped all ideas about that SWA .
Your hint and Pauls outrageous mission made it possible , that this camera will land at my place by the end of this week .

Many , many thanks to you two , especially to Paul , who will become SUPER MODERATOR . This action was just unique and deserves my admiration .

Regards Jürgen

Isn't Norway the country most famous for Gjetost? In case you are ever in Berlin, you can probably find it at KaDeWe. I love the stuff!

Hello Ulrik,

After the SWA thing I had some business to attend to.
It involved visits to four different banks to sought out a little problem.

That made I only read your message after my return to Germany.
My first visit to Sweden was very positive.
It means I will go there again and will remember to bring you enough semtex to dblow a hole so large in Köln they will not even think about continuing the N-S line of the metro.

Thanks again for this excellent tip.

Jürgen informed me just before he went on holiday to Italy he was ready to forget about the SWA camera.
You know he likes only the best from the best.

I sort of persuaded him to look out for one with less presssure, more relaxed.
He left without giving me details of his hotel etc.
That was when you came with this tip for an excellent SWA.
I am sort of superstitious. Meaning without Jürgens low interest your SWA camera would not have surfaced.
Mission accomplished with a bit of luck and some clever thinking to keep the risks small.

I found a nice strong box that was used to ship a Minox camera in to me.
With some extra pressure and a few loud words I managed to squeeze the old SWA into that box, put a stamp on it and deliver the parcel to the mercy of German Post.

The Post Office says there is a reasonable chance this parcel will reach Jürgen some time later this month.
I will keep my fingers crossed for a happy end.
