XPAN Center filter in Photoshop

I was wondering if anyone has devised some sort of Photoshop layer, mask or filter which would emulate the Centre grad filter for the Xpan. If not, has anyone any suggestions of how I might go about making one?

That is exactly what I was looking for, thanks very much. Even without much experimentation, by adjusting the opacity I can get a much improved result!
