Will this lens fit on my 500 EL

I have a 500 EL and was about to buy a chrome 80mm planar for it. However I saw a nicer looking lens called the 80mm f/2.8 Planar CF T* Lens. Will this fit on my 500 EL. Is it made just as nice as the older lenses? Optically, is the CF better? Thanks.
 
The CF series lenses will fit your camera. Same optics as the earlier lenses, just newer style body and better parts availability.

Terry, How will this effect the lens shade that I will need for the CF 80mm ? Is the size of the adapter ring different than the one I originally wanted for the old C lens? I guess I just need to know how to connect the old style Pro shade with the non-collapsable rails to the nicer CF lens.
 
If you have already a 80mm C for EL it's wast of time to change for a CF. Old 80mm are as good as new one but other lenses are better opportunity: 60mm ou 100mm.

It was not a good idea to offer the 80mm in the CFV kit. 60mm lens is better in quality and more interesting as standard lens for 36x48mm sensor.
 
The C lens you were interested in has a B50 filter mount. The CF model is a B60 or bayonet 60 mount. There are interchangeable mounts for your hood.
