Ah, why not. Here's a third shot from the same day - 501CM, 40CF/FLE w/93 pol and original CFV. Even with the 1.5 lens factor, the perspective power of the 40mm lens is quite apparent. I use it more in my landscape work than all my other CF lenses combined.

Could be part of an industrial condensor as well.

So the 40mm CF is only good for photographing junk yards? How come landscapes and architecture are not good subjects for this lens? Why would Zeiss design a lens only for that??

I like the shot of the heat exchanger a lot.
Could well be modern art.
I have seen pieces at an art exhibition that could not come close to this image.

It does not take much to see all those colours and forms as a modern art display.
Trees, mountains, rivers have a beauty of their own that has been photographed many times.

I've posted these images elsewhere here I think, but since we're on the 40mm thread....one landscape and one old truck. Both with my 503CFV-II and 40mm CFE IF (I think).

Here is small contribution to this thread The lens I used was a "classic" 40 C T* (not the most adequate lens for mountaineering but a true "beauty" to use).

Nothing wrong with the C 40 lens.
This B/W image shows a dramatic sky over a wide scenery.
The people in the center give some idea of the scale.

Straight off the Epson 3200 scanner (just removed some dust specks). Portra 400NC-2. I shot a couple of rolls at the Landschaftspark Nord, in Duisburg, Germany. This is a blast-furnace (Hochofen) complex that shut down around 1985. Absolutel stunning lighting on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Almost all shots at F/8 and 30-45 seconds.

York Minster

Had the last of the York films developed. Below is an image of the Chapter House.
