Inhouse C41 devlopment, you get to talk to the guy/gal who does the actual work shops in Arnhem and Doetinchem.
E.g. I get my XPan negatives uncut etc

In London I have so far used two companies:
West End Photos in Tottenham Court Road - excellent service, very knowledgeable and very sharp scans - only limitation is that they will not scan larger than 1800x1800 (GBP 9.99 per film p+d+s)
Snappy Snaps (Kentish Town) - yes, your basic fast turnaround consumer shop - in the UK these are often run by photo enthusiasts who enhoy the contact with likeminded individuals who shoot film. Much faster but not as high quality as the first above. (GBP 4.99 per film p+d)
