I just got lucky, and bought myself a absolutely mint B+W 95EW circular polarising filter.

The stepup ring has arrived today all the way from California (bought on eBay). It fits nicely and the result sure looks scary. The fact that this is an EW (wide angle) version filter explains the large diameter (115mm).

All in all I can recommend the overall solution, a 95mm screwmount filter plus a step up ring are a viable and cost effective solution, which saves you from hunting down a rare Hasselblad filter.

Assuming you acquire a circular pol filter it is even future proof should you ever succumb to the sirens (read: go for the H series).

Our esteemed moderator has acquired a non-EW B+W 95mm pola, I am sure we will soon hear how well that works using a stepup ring.

Now if only these darn rain clouds would dissappear...

Side note: the screwthreads on the original Hasselblad 93mm ring are NOT 93mm. The 93mm refers to the diameter of the drop-in filters. Caveat empor.

I am a new member and a recent convert to the Hasselblad system.
I have a H3D 11-39 and a number of lenses, one of which is the HCD 4/28.
The problem is simple, but the solution is proving elusive.
When I try and use Lee filters with the lens, I am unable to avoid the physical vignetting caused by the filters/holder.
I have discussed the problem with Hasselblad, Lee and several other users who experience the same problem and. like me, are all trying to come up with a solution.
Ideas would be appreciated.

The ball is definately with Lee.
They should work out a solution.

It may be useful to explore other possibilties from B&W or Heliopan for instance.
An adapter with oversize filters may be the best option to solve the problem now.

I, and others, are trying different "solutions" with different suppliers components but, frankly, they are all a botch!

Check to see if Lee offers their W/A mount adapter in the 95mm size. These adapters reverse back on themselves to pull the filter toward the lens thus avoiding edge vignetting.

They do and I have tried it; problem is still there one the holder and grads are attached.
