I'm now using it with the Manfrotto 486 ball head which has a 3/8 mounting thread spring-loaded and surrounding the standard 1/4-20 stud so I can use the larger thread size like Hasselblad suggests. To this I mount the Hasselblad quick connector. The setup is fairly heavy but sturdy and quick to use. Here's a pic "for the record."

Nice ballhead for sure, I have the same model. Mine sits on top of a Slik tripod though.
