So i took apart the viewing glass (not the great Acute Matte one) but the normal cross hair one and I have to put it back together....i was wondering which surfaces go against each other in reassembling it.....there is the glass with the cross-hair that has a rougher side and the same for the ground glass that seems to have a rougher side....which goes against which on the frames.....thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

I will disclose all secrets of the original focussing screen if you promise to get yourself a decent modern, as in 1984, Acute Matte.

The cross hair section with the painted cross hairs goes on top, cross hairs outside.
The other part goes against the cross hair section profiled side outside pointing towards the mirror.

A focussing screen is vital for correct focus.
Invest in an Acute Matte D series and you will regret waiting so long to take that step.
