The 30mm C and CF lenses do not take the same cap. I have both and the CF cap is too large for the C model. Can't imagine why this is but I am sure you can only buy the CF cap new these days.
Thanks Terry!
That is what I figured.
B&H ordered my cap -NEW- from Hasselblad USA, I'm fairly sure.
They listed it on their website as 30mm Distagon 30mm CF/C Cap.
Anyway it came in a sealed plastic bag, with a Hasselblad barcode on it.
Finding the original correct C cap would be a chore. Luckily I was able to modify the new cap, it fits reasonably well. My front element is mint, and I want to keep it that way.
Much nicer now than the oversized Pentacon Six cap I have been using, which I held on to it with two long strips of Lowell Gaffer Tape.
Thanks Terry! I was shoulder-to-shoulder with screaming teenagers crowding the stage. I need to improve my use of Vuescan, that will come with time, no doubt. And now I am using and learning Photoshop Elements, which will be a big benefit and plus.
Look what I found, in a box of extremely large lenscaps, at Columbus Camera Group. An original Hasselblad C-style lenscap for the 30mm C Distagon, which fits perfectly. It's not as scratched-up looking as it appears in this digisnap. I bought it for one dollar. He He.
