Servicing a 1000F in the UK

Since aquiring my 1000F not long ago I have been looking into finding somewhere that could give it a once-over to ensure that the shutter speeds are still accurate, and that all the moving parts are working smoothly and without hindrance so that I may continue to use this wonderful piece of equipment for many more years!

I sent an email to a place I found using google called "JD CamTech" who seemed to deal with Hasselblad and Mamiya, among others, asking whether it would be possible to have a quote for a service. I received a response reasonably quickly, however the response was unsatisfactory to say the least:

JD CamTech said:
Hi
I don't think you will find a repairer for these, they have been a collectors item for over 30 years"

As you can probably tell, I'm apprehensive of using my new acquisition a lot as I am not aware of its history or origins, so I have no idea how close it is to self-destruction - which is something I REALLY don't want to happen!

I live in Nottingham, so anywhere in the East-Midlands would be ideal, however I would be willing to use someone from further afield if their work is recommended.

Any help with this would be fantastic!

Hello! Paul will chime in here. He has a Hasselblad 1000 mechanic in his closet or basement or garage somewhere who can help you!

Anything from a CLA to a fully rebuilt 1000F camera is possible
Most service parts available brand new.

JD Camtech, John Dellera, offers an excellent and reliable service for 500 series cameras.
It pleases me to recommend him for these Hasselblad cameras and lenses.

Early Hasselblads require a different approach and possibly spares that are no longer available from Hasselblad.
1600F and 1000F cameras can still be serviced and depending on their condition brought back to factory specification.

Send me a pm with your email address if you would like to know more.
