Profile Question

I'm new to Hasselblad, and have recently acquired a H4D-31, which is working wonderfully. I do a lot landscape work, using a tripod, and have programmed things so that when I press the AE-L button and then press the shutter release button the mirror goes up and then there is a 5 second delay before the capture actually occurs.

I''m now playing around with profiles, and my question is, can one include this setting in a profile?

Thanks in advance.

You can create a number of profiles. If you press and hold the power button you get a list of stored profiles. You can add yours here. You should download the manual from the Hasselblad site.

Thank you Jeffg53. Perhaps I haven't made myself clear enough. Actually I have read the whole manual (!!) but this point seems not to be addressed directly. I want to include in a profile that when the shutter release button is pressed the mirror goes up and then there is a 5 second delay before the capture actually occurs.

If it's not possible it's not such a huge problem, but if it were possible to include this mirror up and then 5 second delay before capture takes place it would be nice.

Thanks again.

Hi Richard,

The Self Timer is not part of any profile (unfortunately). What I did was program the Mirror Up button to turn on the Self Timer.

For the Self Timer, I programmed it so that when I hit the shutter release button, the mirror goes up for 3 seconds, then the exposure is made, then the mirror comes back down. This is set through the Self Timer option on the grip.

My apologies, Richard. I'm so used to people not bothering to read manuals that I bundled you in with them. I do it all manually. I suppose that comes from years of seascape photography where I wait for the right moment of waves etc, before pressing the release.

Thank you both. I see there is a function in the forum for giving a type of official thank you, but unfortunately I don't know how to do that, otherwise I would officially thank you both.

All the best.
