Problem with auto bellows I think ?

Hi

Just joined this forum as I have a problem

I am new to hasselblad so I might well just be making a simple mistake ...

I have a 503 CW a 150 CFI and a 80 on a compur shutter i think is a CF

When I put either lens on the 503 it fires the flash every time so no problem with cables etc

I also have a Autobellows which is where my problems start

If I put the 80 on the bellows then the flash works
if I put the 150 on it will not

take the bellows off and put either lens back directly to the body and everything works again

neither lens or bellows has any electrical connetions
just the cocking connection and the other thing next to it with the pin in the middle (what is that bit for )

I do not have any instructions for the auto bellows which may have the answer but for the moment it just seems very odd

Dose anybody have a link to a copy or could email me them

Thanks

What flash du you use? And how do you connect it to the lens?
I'm not sure how you usually is conneting the flash to the camera/lens, but with the 503 you are probably uses the TTL-cable to the body.
But I think that you need a PC-cable to the lens also?

Robin,

This seems to be a funny coincidence.
The flash contacts on any lens should work no matter what is attached to them.
The only logical explanation seems a poor contact of the cable to the outside of the lens connector.

Please note the correct order of fitting bellows and lenses:
First attach the bellows to the body then fit the lens to the bellows.
Removal is the reverse of fitting.
The same goes for extension rings.
The order of fitting / removal is important to prevent locking of the body and attachments.

If you can not find a copy of the manual for the bellows plaese drop me a pm with your email address.
The manual contains a lot of useful information about scale, DOF, distance of the object etc.
