Polaroid Film/Backs - Going Away

Hi, all - now that Polaroid has announced that it will stop film production by 2009, I'm wondering about stocking up on 672 (B&W ASA 400) for use with the back for my 501cm. Can polaroid film be stored for long periods under refrigeration, or does the chemistry go bad after some period of time regardless? Thanks!

You can't freeze Polaroid.
And refrigerated it wil keep as long as the use-by date indicates.
 
Thanks, Qnu. I was also able to find a film data sheet on Polaroid's website that gave more details. Consistent with your guidance.

are they going to stop all kinds of films that fits for the hasselblad?
what types of films fits for the hasselblad back by the way?
 
Polaroid filmpacks will be available till the end of this year.
Polaroid makes films for both the 80 and the 100 backs.

It looks like it that Fuji will keep production for instant film going.
I did not buy any film from Fuji for the older 80 back so I can not say that these are still available from Fuji.

Once again a warning not to use the 80 filmback with any focal plane shutter camera. i.e. 1600F, 1000F, 2000 series and 200 series.
The 80 back goes deeper into the camera body and will ruin the shutter.

I am not sure when I bought my last batch 88 Polaroid films but my supplier
informed me it is still available from Polaroid.

No idea what will happen when Polaroid stops production.
I did not yet have any 87 or 88 type film from Fuji.
I have a couple of Arca backs that take 88 film.

Pola Back

There is only one manufacturer left that makes film for Polaroid backs: Fuji.
They have colour and B/W instant film available.

A Pola back is an expensive item to use.
Although the backs can be found for very friendly prices the film is not so friendly priced.

I've noticed...i looked on ebay and its pretty expensive. I guess it is a good sign though, that a big firm like polaroid backs down because it's bad for the environment, it kind of sounds too good to be true.
Is it just FP-100C that fits a 100 back?

It is to good to be true:
Polaroid lost the market of passport photographs to Japanese companies with digital cameras.
Mitsubishi and Sony have taken over where Polaroid was once market leader.
Polaroid stopped making instant film because they went out of business.
Nothing to do with worries about the environment, another fairytale :(

I am thinking of buying a nice CFV back instead.
The cost of instant film gives me a good excuse to take the plunge.........

what is bad for the environment is consumer/commodity culture, capitalism overporduction.

eg. everyone has to have a camera (digital)... and worst of all they have to replace it every year.

leave all us wanting to use chemistry on our own peace alone :D
now if every single person in this planet is made and pushed (advertisising/marketing) to have a darkroom and shoot 300 rolls of film a month then it is an obvious disaster....

Hi, all - does anyone here have experience using the Fuji B&W instant film yet? How does it compare to the Polaroid films when used for test shots for exposure settings?

Fuji Instant Film

I have used Fuji B/W quite a lot.
The quality is at least as good as the former Polaroid film.

It looks as if new times are coming up in KLEVE .

If I can get a decent offer for a HASSELBLAD CF 39-II back (new) for the V-SYSTEM cameras , my CFV will be for sale .
