polaroid back

Sunday I bought a NPC Polaroid back for my 500 ELM. The seller said Fuji is making the film again. I paid $45 for the back. However, when I got home and tried it on the camera, it did not fit. The motor on the base was in the way. Did they make a special model Polaroid back for the 500 ELM or will this always be a problem and I will not be able to use instant film with this model Hasselblad?

Flashbulbman,
I have a ELM also and my Hasselblad 100 Polaroid back works fine, no clearance issues. NPC may be a different design. If you can get your money back, do so and buy ONLY the Hasselblad 100 back. You can buy Fuji instant pack film FP-100B, which is 100 asa B&W or Fuji FP-100c which is 100 asa color.

Ebay is a GREAT place for the Fuji film and the Hasselblad 100 back.

Why keep a back that will fit only 1 camera. The Hasselblad 100 back will fit all 500 series cameras and the SWC/M not the SWC. The mounting plate of the SWC extends too far and the winding crank on the SWC sticks out too far to allow the 100 back to fit. I think it's a waste of money to buy 2 different polaroid backs when 1 will do. My only reason for having 2 Hasselblad 100 backs is 1 for color and 1 for B&W.

Why is there such a range of prices for the polaroid backs? I've been wanting to get one for my 500CW, but am still confused about which one to go with (after reading several threads here). The NPC ones seem to run ~$100. Others, listed only as 'polaroid 100 back' are ~$20. I'm certainly willing to spend $20 to try one out, but can those really be OK? And why are the others so much more?

Well, for some of the Pola backs film is no longer available. Search the
forum for which ones, I do not recall.

This is one guess why some appear quite cheap on evilBay etc.
