PocketWizard and Hasselblad V lenses?

Hi out there!

I am struggling with the connection, Hasselblad V system and PocketWizard TT5 for Nikon. What I am trying to do, is to use my PW:s to trigger my Nikon flashes from a 500CM with cfv-39 on the back.

I can not get it to work, though it should. I have tried to all possible configurationcombinations (like that word) betweens the PW:s, flashes an cameras.

I will use it in manual mode, no ttl or any kind of metering.

Anyone tested and succeeded? Any suggestions?

If you have a 500cm (alike) you must connect the flash to the lens.

The flash connection on the cfv is only used in case you use "C" lens with a 200(0) body (or non 500 body). In this case you need a wire between the lens and the cfv and another from the cfv to the flash.

For amasing reason, with my 2000F seted as a 500c I do not need any wire to the cfv.

Thanks! But I am fully aware of that, and have cable designed to connect between the lens and the PW. I have also tried cable between the receiving PW and the flash, hotshoe on and off. Well i tried most of the variables that I can think of.

Maybe a lens problem. I had this 15 years ago on my distagon.
Do you succed to fire other flash with the lens ?

PocketWizard and Hasselblad V Lenses

Do you have the PocketWizard mounted on a flash shoe? Does it have extra pins on the bottom of it that are shorting out on a metal flash shoe? The shoe on my PM5 angle finder is of a very simple design - not like the one on my Nikon with extra connections in it.

Your problem may be solved by covering your flash shoe with electrical tape to prevent the short.

It seems that the PocketWizard don´t work the way I´d like it to.

I try´d to trigger the transmitting PW from my sync contact on the lens and then have that PW to via radio trigger the remote flash connected to a receiving PW.

The transmitting PW need to be mounted in a hotshoe to work. The cable contact (inlet 1 or 2) on the PW does not work as a receiver for the flashsignal from the synccontact on the lens.

Next to try out is a cheap hotshoe connected to the sync contact on the lens via a sync cable.

I´ll be back with more information.

PocketWizard and Hasselblad V Lenses

My PocketWizard Plus II works fine triggered from a standard PC connector. They don't require a hot shoe. However, they wont work connected to the PC connection if they are shorted out at the hotshoe connection by an old style hotshoe.

I have (finally) got the explanation.

Pocket Wizard TT5 have two cable connections, flash and camera. Those connections works only as transmitting connections, not receiving.

Using an extern hotshoe works fine, meaning I can use all my Nikon flash equipment with my Hasseblad.

Does not really compute: syncing a flash is (essentially) shorting the two wires that make up the sync connection. So there is no transmission in that sense.

So I am still confused.

I am sorry, but I can not explain it any better due to bad english/american writing knowledge.

The PW TT5 does not work as a transmitter from a camera without a hotshoe. The only way to do it, if your camera does not have a hotshoe, is to buy a extern hotshoe and attach that to your cameras x-sync contact.

Ah, OK. So you cannot use a sync cable from the lens directly to the PW, you need to go via the hotshoe adapter.

Thanks!
