Of special interest to CFV owners is that all V lenses are now supported by DAC corrections including all of the F and and FE lenses ... even the zoom with specific focal lengths with-in the zoom!

It has new exposure controls including fill and recover just like Lightroom.

All of the tool pallets can be reconfigured and placed where you want them in the order you want them ... I already did mine to match the layout in Lightroom so the workflow is similar ... so now it's like using one file processor = speed.

All V-lenses? Shall I believe that they now even have included my Distagon 5,6/60 mm, the 4,0/60 or my first generation 6-element Planar 2,8/80 ?
If yes it is really time to buy a CFV 39.:daumenhoch_smilie:

More serious question: Will the CFV 16 now work at 800 ASA or is this beyond the capabilities of that back?

Hi Ulrik,

Here is the list of lenses from the V Lens Correction Menu in Phocus 2.0.

The ISO capabilities of the CFV is a firmware / sensor hardware
thing, not sure how Phocus 2.0 would help here. I'm not very optimistic that
we ever see ISO 800 support on the CFV I/II, the sensor is probably
a little old for that.

Regards,
Ralf

Very impressive. Amazing that the both FE 50mm 2.8 need different treatments. I expected that the differences was only closer focussing.

Easy to test Ulrik. Just shoot some shots with those lenses using your CFV-16, and try the corrections for different mm lenses like 50 and 60 and 80 and toggle back and forth in Phocus 2.0 to see if there are any image improvements. Improvements in wider lenses are more obvious. The only thing you will not be able to see is the effect across a wider sensor like with a CFV/39.

I am very curious to see what happens with my 30 CFi on a 39 meg back.

If you want ISO 800, it is another reason to move to the CVF/39. The 39 backs do a respectable job at 800, I use it all the time. Just make sure you meter correctly.

My friend that bought my 40 IF is going to try the corrections in Phocus 2.0 to see to what degree the distortion is corrected. If it does correct the distortion well, and maintains the other incredible attributes of that lens ... it will make it one of the finest lenses even more, if not the finest MF WA lens, to use with digital capture in the world.

Transform a fish-eye vue to a orthoscopic vue ?

800 asa with cfv is not bad, but if you take the same at 50 asa, you will agree to take a tripod next time.

ISO 50 and a tripod is not an option if the subject is moving. Which is why one would opt for 400 or 800 over 50. Also to gain DOF if needed in the prevailing light.

The presumption that everyone is a tripod landscape shooter in golden light on a windless day is a misnomer : -)

Landscapes represent 2% of what I shoot. In studio it's always ISO 50 or 100 unless two 2400 w/s boxes can't provide enough light for DOF needed ... which never happens when using a view camera with T/S. But outside shooting people, or groups, or in lower light which is 50%+ of my work, 400 and 800 are a God sent.

BTW, here is a demo I just did for another forum showing the difference between 100 and 800 using a Hassey 39 meg back.
