Paper formats for analogue printing of Xpan negs

I print my own b&w Xpan negs in a traditional wet darkroom. To get a 4 x 10 1/2 image, I print on 11 x 14, and subsequently waste a lot of paper. I'm thinking of cutting the 11 x 14 sheets in half lengthwise to economize paper and eliminate the overly generous borders of my prints. Is anyone out there doing the same thing, or have another solution?

TIA.

Yes, that is exactly what I have been doing for the last several months and it does work well-in addition to cutting the cost in-half. I have seen no problems with either fiber-based or RC papers that I have been using. (Ilford).

Good Luck

I use a Saunders easel for borderless prints and manage to get 3 prints out of one sheet of conventional paper, cut beforehand under darkroom light.
