The details in this image are really good. Just look at the red flags against the clouds. Impressive with this small size at display.

I like No 1 and 3 most. These shots capture the spirit of this landscape perfectly!

A wild boar is in our midst. ;o) Bienvenue à chez nous. I have been to Normandy where Calvados is from and my ancestors originated there, a long, long time ago. We moved to England in 1066 and tried to civilize them. It didn't work. LMAO Keep posting your lovely photographs.

I really like the older zoom, the 35-75. Yes, its a little big and has smaller f/stops, but for landsacpe work in square format, it does really well in the corners at most f/stops and the 77mm filter size is similar to other XCD lenses. The Normandy photos are really nice, btw!

Love the quality of these images, sanglier. Must sell a couple of my classical guitars, and buy myself an X2D!

Get the X2D II. It is cheaper and better. I was fretful over the price of mine until I shot it. Then I understood completely. I have some Leicas but nothing gives the images the HB does. The HB with an HB lens is it. I have tried 35mm lenses, good ones, on the HB. Nahhh. HB all the way for quality.

I love the color in the HB, but I love the extreme weather proof nature of the Leica SL and S (since I do landscape work in some extreme weather including snow, ice and rain).

@boojum how do you deal with the extra dynamic range from the X2D II? I have edited my X2D files in the ipad Phocus 2 app and can make them look great, but how do you share those on instagram or have you printed any images? Does it really provide dynamic range on the highlights that can be used other than to look at on a computer screen / ipad screen?

David.

I am so lame, I shoot both 3FR and JPG but display JPG SOOC, period. I am not a pixel-peeper. I just try to get something I think interesting in the frame and mash on the shutter button. The HB JPG's astound me with the color gradation/micro-contrast. I have not yet shot enough with the II to say it is that different. I love the HNCS and image quality. That's it. Here is a nice hull I shot.

Agreed on the color. I have very little adjustments which is good because none of the phocus apps have good dust removal. The color is why I shoot the X2D.

I am in a coastal community. on the Columbia 12 - 14 miles from The Bar and then the Pacific. There is a lot of fishing done here, and pleasure boating. Another nice hull captured so well by HNCS. These cameras cost, you get your money's worth.

Here is the change of pilots. This Ro-Ro (Roll on, Roll off, car carrier) is dropping its bar pilot (yellow boat astern) and picking up its river pilot (black boat in foreground). The Columbia Bar is considered the worst anywhere by many, "The Graveyard of the Pacific" it is a serious stretch of water. These cameras are wonderful.
