I'm planning a trip to Newfoundland in late June. Has anyone been there? I'd like some advice about equipment and appropriate gear for the climate.

Newfoundland is very humid and dank. Equipment can have a hard time drying out. A sturdy pod is also good. If you go on a whale watching cruise, something handheld is key as the boats buck a lot. Also, you need lots of waterproof packaging for yourself and your equipment, the more the better. Hope you see St. John's, and Gros Morne, which is amazing, and the west coast. Twillingate is also worth a stop.
