I'm relatively new to the format, but I just love it.
I've been shooting 2:3 format for yonks, and always loved the results I've seen in others using the 3:1 format. I've done a fair bit of 3:1 via digital capture/stitching, but found it incredibly lacking for anything other than slow-speed landscape work.
I finally plucked up the financial courage to drop some cash on the XpanII Kit, and so far so good. I love the quality of the 45mm lens, and scanning (although a bit tricky) is fantastic with the right software and the Nikon 5000ED.
I've posted a few ex&les on my site : http://www.andrewmacbeth.com stop by, take a look.. I'd love to chat with you guys about technique and process.
Cheers all,
Andrew.
