New Hasselblad Compendium, 2nd Edition 2011 by Richard (Rick) Nordin available June

Just got it!

Just got my new compendium. What a wealth of information. Much new info and many, many new pictures. What is on the DVD? Haven't played it yet. Congratulations to Paul, Wilko and Ulrick for being mention within the pages!

Great to hear that this book is now being delivered. Rick has put more effort into it than one can imagine.

Ulrik

As far as I know I had nothing to do with the enormous amount of work needed for this edition.
Just chatted a couple of times with Rick about lenses and cameras.

Lets give praise where praise is due to Rick Nordin for writing another great book devoted to Hasselblad cameras.

Since the first edition of the compendium still fetches 3-5 times the RRP it may be a good idea to buy some more copies of the new Compendium.

Real estate and the stock market are not very save investments.
What better way to invest your money these days? :)

From my own experience I have to suggest a combined approach. Reading the first version of the book certainly encouraged me to add a few more Hasselblad items to my photo gear. Therefore some investment in real estate for the purpose of storage is recommended.

I should have suggested to Rick to print a warning on the book cover that reading it can cause addiction.

The Surgeon General warns: reading the Hasselblad Compendium can lead to severe cases of Compulsive Hasselblad Purchasing Disorder

Something along those lines? :z04_975:

Hello Ulrik,

Great you finally found a specialist who was able to diagnose your condition.
The symptoms are familiar, do you think I could suffer from the same illnes?

The only lasting effect seems to be a poor bank balance, whatever is credited to your account disappears as snow in the afternoon sun.
I can live with thse symptoms as long as enough funds are coming in.

Wish you a speedy recovery if that is possible :)

I don't think anyone has found a cure for CHPD.....as long as the funds keep coming in to the bank account, the acquisition of Hasselblad gear will continue unabated.....at least, that's been my experience.

Anyone know of a mint condition black 555ELD for sale? :z04_smileys70:

My copy arrived this morning, beautifully packaged and suffered no damage in transit. :) No import fees or extortionate postage :z04_carrot:

What a fantastic amount of information, I can see why this book has become the one to go to for all things Hasselblad. :D

Electronic copy?

Yes, an electronic copy would sometimes be nice to have.
Like on an USB-stick while travelling.

But I'm also of that opinion that sometimes things are to be read on paper.
And a book regarding a such physical thing as Hasselblad cameras is best on printed matter.

who is going to the post office tomorrow to get the package from camerabooks...

The new compendium means less posts at this forum.
Posters are much too busy with the new compendium :)

Optimist... reading is an artform lost on an increasing number of people. After all it is much easier to ask question upon question on web forums. The WWW is full this :z04_pc2:
