Im an old 35mm film guy and have a nikon Z7 now, really want to get into medium format. been looking at ebay for a mamiya RB67 Pro... open to suggestions and offers of items for sale. I would trust a shooter here over an unknown on ebay.
I would tell you one not to get, a Mamiya Press Super 23, unless you are a professional weight lifter. I could not believe the weight when I bought a lovely example off eBay. I wondered if it was made from depleted uranium I think Japanese eBay sellers are extremely reliable. I have never had a duff buy from Japan in over 20 years.
I agree re: mamiya press cameras generally. The RB is at least as heavy though. I've had the fortune to own many different medium format film cameras. The only one (using film that is) that's stayed with me is the Fuji GSW 690: nice large negative, very nice glass, sort of portable, reliable, and I like rangefinders. It also fits my style to shoot with only one focal length (around 28mm equivalent is my favourite). Of course, it's not for you if you use different focal lengths (unless you also carry around a Fuji GW 690)... Good luck with your search.
Forget my comment! I just noted the "Portaits" part of your title, sorry. Neither of the Fuji 6x9 rangefinders is ideal for portraits. An RB or RZ work great on a tripod for portraits.
