Easy to check before shooting and not expensive to rectify if you the parts yourself.

A repairman will ask about 25 euro / 35 USD to solve this problem.

i know, should have checked it. but no harm done, half came out without these streaks, or acceptable.
any idea where i could get the parts? my guess would be through calumet ...

Calumet does not seem to be interested in supplyíng parts or anything else for the V series.

i opened up the back and saw the trap was sticking together.
i removed it, did away with the sticky stuff and i can't see a leak anymore now.
wonder how long this will last though ;).
when it returns, i guess i'll cut a strip of foam to replace the old one.
should work.

when opening is was surprised though to see a V-spring jumping out,
which operates the locking of the back without blackslide.
i managed to put it in place, so it's working fine again now.

Light trap replacement

I have seen light trap replacement parts on eBay from time to time for about $9. I don't think you want to use anything else - like foam in place of the original material.

i guess you're right, atanabe.
when the leak reappears, i'll go looking for original replacement parts.

thanks,

Fitting the seal kit is not a difficult job but needs some expertise.
Try to find a kit from a seller who also sends you fitting instructions.

Vic.

interesting, I too am having this problem on A12 back i bought....first culprit i see is a NOT FLAT aluminium darkslide....

sorry to hear about your stainless steel wrap, sperera ;)

how do you guys handle the V-spring when you open the back?
does it just sit there, ready to jump out? or am i missing something?

maarten.

I'm totally ham fisted at anything DIY but found fitting new seals very easy. The spring stays put and nothing jumps out so don't worry.

I got my seals from Dick Werner (via Ebay) complete with very easy to follow instructions

well, glad to hear, but the spring DID jump out at one point!
i was worried it wouldn't stay in place while replacing the cover, but i'm glad it did.
my guess is the pin that holds the lever is a bit worn ...

I remember to have order a kit 5 years ago via eb for 19$ + shipping and recieved a poor hardware of 0.05$ value probably manufactured in the kitchen.
Anyway It works.
A DIY that need to be descibed here with help of what is needed.

As I will probably sell olds "A" backs (as I have more than 8 + digital) and keep only the "E" backs in september, I will study this then.

World Cup is on, switching off.....hahahahaha
