Lens or converter?

I am thinking about improving my equipment for portraits. I am still using the 80mm for this on a H2 with Phaseone P25.

Who has experience with a tele-converter?
What about the 1,4 converter with 80mm/2,8 versus the 150mm lens? versus the 120mm macro?

Thank you for exampels too. :-)

Yours Eric

You are always better off with a prime lens than a lens with a converter. You can probably find a nice used 150mm for less than the cost of a 1.4 converter!

A macro lens is not the most logical choice for portraits.
Of course you can apply softeners in post production.

The 150 mm is the focal length to go for.
It compresses facial features moderately.
The 150 also isolates the subject from the background when used with (near) maximum aperture.

The converter for the H series is not 1.4 but 1.7 which turns the 80 mm into a lens with 136 mm focal length.
