Leaf/Focal Shutter Question

Hi all - I'm a new 203FE owner, and am having a few problems. I am using an 80CFE, but when I try and shoot a long-exposure at night, the image doesn't expose. One of the shutters (I'm not sure if it is the Leaf in the lense or the camera's focal-plane shutter) closes way before the exposure is complete leaving me with an undexposed image.

So, to the question: how do you switch between shutters? What setting should I be using to achieve long exposures?

Thanks in advance,
Julian

Welcome at hasselblad info forum.

The 203 FE allows for maximum 34 minutes exposure with the focal plane shutter.
In case you need a longer time it is possible to use the B setting of the lens and use the focal plane shutter only as auxilary shutter.

A 203FE could do with a users manual because the camera offers quite a lot of options.

You can download a manual here: www.hasselblad.se

Register your camera. After that you have acces to downloads.

Don't know where you have the shutter speed ring on the lens set but it should be on "F". That keeps it open all the time. The exposure is then made with the 203fe body shutter.
