Hi everyone -

I usually describe myself as a historian with a camera - I sit somewhere between being a commercial photographer, an architectural photographer and a travel photographer.
Currently shooting with my new X2D II so I figured now would be a good time to sign up to talk about MF. I've been shooting with my 500c/m for a while and, before that I used to carry a Holga everywhere I went. But this is my first digital MF camera. Cheers.

I got up at 5am California time to get my order in! I sort of expected to wait a month or two for it to arrive but it was at my door 36 hours later.

How is your first impression?

It’s beautiful. Coming from the Sony ecosystem, I find it amazing how simple the design is and how everything sort of gets out of your way to let you focus on taking pictures. The AF is really good, but it’s not dethroning Sony, Nikon and Canon any time soon. This IBIS is even better than what people are raving about it. You really can get in-focus shots in a dimly lit room, one handed, arm outstretched, with a 2-3 second exposure. Amazing. As someone who likes to shoot in dark old tombs and temples, I’m excited to be able to pull that off without a tripod.
