How to take in focus self portraits

I just started using a H4D-50 and am having trouble taking off-center self portraits with my face in focus. I'm using a 10 second timer and a shutter release. Any suggestions?

Exacty. Make sure you measure from the film plane. It's the little symbol on the film cameras that has a circle and a line through it (all film cameras have it).
