hasselblad CFV

I also am looking to the CF-II/39 as a more versatile solution.

I will keep the CFV-II because it is the only digital back that fully works on the 200 series cameras.

I have sold both of my 503CWs ... and will rely on the 203FEs for "square" digital and film Hasselblad Legacy shooting from now on.

I will continue to search for a CF/CF-II 39 for use on the H2F which functionally replaces the 503CWs either with film or a digital back ... full use of all my 500 series lenses with focus confirmation, as well as any HC/AF lens I may wish to use. With a digital back I can take full advantage of the DAC corrections in Phocus when using the H/C lenses. It will represent the most versatile MF system I have ever owned.

I will also keep my CFV . No intention for selling . The CFII-39 will come true in about 4 weeks . I already have a reservation for that back .
It is at a different dealer than the one for my CFV and he is shurely takeing more care of me , if there should be some issues . This dealer is the key dealer for the HASSELBLAD V-SYSTEM gear in Germany and I have already bought quite some gear there .
With my gained experience with the CFV , I believe the CFII-39 will not be much different in handling than the CFV .
All I have still to learn are the different stitching positions with my ARCA ROTASLIDE adapter . There are three of them . No user manual available and I believe never issued .
Is there anyone here using that ARCA ROTASLIDE adapter ? ? ?

newbie to cfv

Hi to all,

I'm currently owned a 503cwd with extra 2 lenses, 50 cfi & 180 cfi, but my 50 cfi (like new from KEH) likely has a soft focused look compare to 80 cfe. I don't know what caused that. Happy with the results from 80 cfe.

I'm have been reading very much all of your articles that you all have been posted to the cfv system. Doing homeworks from there, but not quite to get best from flexcolor (4.8.6).

One nite of darkroom helper, in mid 80's, and has no experience in professional photography. Since i was reading this forum, then i've paid an extremely expensive fee cuz of reading of you all...to get the 17 grands cfv system. I'm absolutely in..seine!!! =)

Love you, hate you, love you etc. hehehehe

Oh yeah, still keeping my day job!

FEP, First of all welcome to hasselbladinfo forum.

It is nice to read that this forum has helped to persuade you to buy Hasselblad digital.
You will come to love the CFV back.
Do not hesitate to ask questions when you are processing the files.
At first that is a sort of obstacle course but as soon as you develop a method that suits you it will reward your efforts.

I am a bit worried about the report of the 50 mm CFi lens.
That lens should give tag sharp images.

Please note it is a floating elements design that needs a special method to focus.

First use the normal ring to focus at the subject.
Look at the distance found and select the correct range for the floating elements.
Than re-adjust the focus using the normal ring.
If you are in a hurry and do not wish to set the front floating lens group you may leave the first ring that controls the floating elements at the longest distance meaning infinity.

If this does not solve the soft focus look of the 50 CFi the lens needs to be checked by Hasselblad or Zeiss.

The 50mm CFi is a very good Zeiss lens. beter than 80mm CFE.
However, it's more difficult to focus on a screen with a wide angle than a 180mm as I noticed with my Kodak Proback.

Hi Carsten,

Just to give you a figure, i paid 5499 Euro for a used CFV. It was send to Sweden for a check and replacement of the Filter (it now has the Filter
of the CFVII). The back is in absolute top condition.

Yeah, My focusing method is pre set-up my subject's range on FLE, then focus. :)

Hasselblad Saved my Bronica

Hi everybody, I would say that I would have bought a CFV or CFVII back if it weren't for the fact that the Ixpress V96C backs go for about US$4,000 nowadays. For someone with a Hasselblad V system or some legacy defunct medium format system, the CFV could help to breathe new life in their existing system, which is fantastic in my books. I already had 2 bodies, a prism finder, 3 lenses, auto bellows, bellows hood... I just had to buy a V-mount adapter from Silvestri (or also available from Kapture Group) and now I'm shooting with my Bronica almost exclusively in digital. However, it did show up my Zenzanon-S 50mm lens to be a very soft lens - something I suspected when I shot film, but because one often doesn't pixel peep at 100% with film, it wasn't so annoying then.

On the Bronica I would still have to use a sync cable even with the CFV, so the cable-less convenience on a Hassy 500 body is fantastic.
