hi,

the mirror of my 201f is locked upwards. also, i can't seem to separate the lens from the body. any tips are welcome.

cheers, peter.

Or try to press the centerbutton in the crank and wind one turn.
Like you do when doing a double-exposure.

pressing the center button in the crank solved the problem of not getting the lens of the body. and putting a new battery in solved the problem of the jamming mirror. thank you very much for your replies, your concern and advice.

never thought the battery could cause the mirror to jam. learned something new today.

Battery Drain

The 201F will drain your battery within about half a year .
I experienced this issue with my 201F . The camera has been for service , but the cause could not be found . Its still there . The same happened to other Users as well . So what you should do is , remove the battery when you do not use the
camera .
There is an older thread in this forum describing this issue .
Good search words are : 201F , drain , battery .
This issue does not happen with the 2000 series bodies and also not with 203 and 205 bodies .

well, i've got mine for about two years now. that's the first time i've encoutered this issue. from now on i'll be removing the battery whenever i'm not using it.

i'll do the search. thank you.

Actually when battery is almost dead the 2000 cameras (at oeast 2000 fc) can also lock with mirror up (MAybe the fcm and fcw dont have this problem since they can be used on without battery in C mode if I remember correctly. They do however not have a drain on battery. I think that the other 200 cameras behave sikilarly when battery is almost dead. So a spare battery is really to be recommended.
