Getting that fast look!

Don't overcomplicate things...

I shot this by holding a Leica M8 w/Zeiss 4/18 Distagon ZM out of the roof, over the windshield, while driving. :)

(click for larger/info)

This was shot just by panning (though somewhat poorly) with a slow shutter speed. I just caught the bike out of the corner of my eye and totally winged it on-the-fly.

Or, you could remain stationary while your subject moves on by... Use a slow shutter speed but brace yourself (or use a tripod).

Finally, you can just imply motion by being in the middle of the unexpected. I shot this while driving under a bridge, with a relatively fast shutter speed.

I used to have a ton of pictures of cars at various shows, and just from car-spotting in general (I'm a huge car-bore, so bear with me!) however I lost them on an old HDD :(

I have, however, looked at what I have left dotted around my external HD, and I found this natty little MG that I spotted on Hyde Park Corner in London.

Thanks for this nice red MG F if I am correct but please use the upload facility for this forum.
If ever the source where this came from is inoperative the forum is left with a hole.
I do like Swiss cheese but i do not like the forum to become like that.
Uploads are done by using the paperclip a little off centre in the tool bar.

Thanks for the advice, Paul. I'll take note and remember for the future :)

I may as well add (for the people who are interested in cars) that the one in the picture is an MG RV8. slightly upgraded MGB, with a more luxury interior, and a V8 engine, as well as new bodywork

Thank you for correcting me.
I seem to have my letters all mixed up.
Maybe you can help me identify this car?

I restored one of these nearly thirty years ago.
This looks like a pretty good job although the colour should be green.......

This little car certainly belongs in the fast look department.
With 113 HP it held many records in its class lasting more than 20 years.

I don't have a great knowledge of vintage cars, however that looks a bit like something from the early 30s called the MG K3. From what I can tell, it was very successful in motorsport in its engine-size class.

Whether it is a K3, however, I'm unsure.

You were quite close:

K3 was the 6 cylinder used for cars in the 1100 cc racing class.

Take a good look to the firewall left side and you see four spark plugs.
This car is a much rarer Q Type. Only 8 were built in 1933/1934.

Like most of these gems it was sold to a Japanse collector.

That's fantastic! 746cc supercharged... absolutely wonderful.

I have been digging around on the internet and in old hard drives, and I have found two more panned shots of cars that I took a few years back. Apologies for the low resolution, and poor quality but i have lost the original files. I do feel, however, that they are relevant
