Flexbody Stray Light Mask

In case anyone here is unaware, Paul is an absolute god when it comes to looking for obscure parts. He's been in constant communication with me as he searched for this part and I owe him a BIG debt of gratitude. We are blessed to have such a member/moderator here.

Paul, thanks again for the millionth time!

Hm, last time I checked he looked pretty human, and hardly god-like to me.
And at least his beloved friends (the Dutch highway patrol) do not properly respect his divinity..

Sounds like he may drive a bit fast. I don't care, he surely helped me and if I was the policeman, I'd let him go.

Hello Jim, Wilko,

The solution for a constantly expanding attention from Dutch motorway police:

Get a car that is faster than theirs and also fast enough to move out of sight of their radar coupled cameras before the shutter is tripped.
Experience shows over 130 MPH beats their radar/camera set up.

One early Sunday morning passing a patrolcar with radar gear hidden in the bushes at 150 MPH nothing happened.
Never got the ticket!

The parcel is on its way.
I am sure Jim finds good use for the flimsy little thing inside it.

Proper ones aren't :)

In Germany there is a gentlemens agreement that most manufacturers adhere to to limit cars to 250km/h. But given that the limiters are electronical ones on the motor management they can be disabled. Just ask, and (maybe) sign a disclaimer and you are good to go with (say) your 1000 bhp Bugatti Veyron..

No Steve early AMG cars did not have a speed limiter.
New ones have one that can be switched off by reprogramming the cars electronics.
That is a costly affair although it includes a two day training course on the Nürnburg ring with a personal trainer!

Flat out I have done 172 mph with my "Tank"

Steve

About ten years ago , I got 3 tickets at one and the same day .
That cost me a lot of money , and cured me . Since then , I take the shots .

Porsche also??...My 996tt has be re-chipped and modified (620 bhp on the dyno) but I don't remember that it was limited when it was "stock".

Steve

No Steve, Porsche is not a member of this gentlemens club.
They are strictly on their own! :z02_respekt:

Times have changed. Quite a few German diesel powered cars have been limited as well.
If only Rudolf could have known that his engine design would be subject to this kind of treatment. :z04_carrot:
