One of the attractive aspects of the X2D II 100C is the possibility of synchronising flash to shutter speeds of up to 1/2000 - with the right lens.

However, both my Godox flashes don't want to play with the camera! They are Nikon versions...... Why? And also is there a workaround?

I see on the Web site that a few of the Nikon own brand flashes are possible alternatives (maybe the A700 or for more oomph the A5000), but I would quite like to keep going with Godox...
 
my Godox it32 works fine on the X2Dii and uses TTL . But off camera TTL doesn't work. Godox support confirmed it. There's a workaround - for this flash unit. which is to turn on TCM while the flash is on camera. Adjust the power using TTTL then before removing the flash, switch it to M. Tis saves the settings. Now off camera, so long as your ambient ight hasn't changed, youre good to go. Tip came from Mathphotographer

Now I wonder if the Godox X3pro - N trigger, would give off camera synch (up to 1/2000s?) using the same method, but not removing it, so that adjustments would be live as conditions alter?
 
My it32 flash also uses the X5N trigger.
If you leave the flash attached, then I'd expect TTL to work. It's off camera the TTL doesn't work.

As far as I know, Godx flashes, even if for Nikon, need a firmware update to be able to communicate correctly with Hasselblad. But if you renounce TTL and shoot manually you shouldn't have any problems. Just be sure that in the menu you choose the legacy option or "single point" contact. I use an "old" H5D with Godox flashes and it works smoothly at every speed.
