This is not a fairy tale:

Many years ago there was a company that offered AF lenses for the V series.

Big chiefs from Sweden were invited to come and see these wonderful new developments.
Big chiefs were impressed but decided "the world was not ready for this"

Engineers and marketing people form the company that offered those new lenses were left behind, smoke coming from their ears.
This company, about 40 times as large as Hasselblad, decided they would never supply AF lenses to Hasselblad.

Discretion demands I can not reveal the name of that company " that makes it visible" of course.

just received this from my dealer (Aug 28):

"I received word this morning that the CFV-39 systems are in the states and should be shipping out today."

yipee!

John

While I was on a trip to Switzerland and Austria today , I received a cell phone call from HASSELBLAD Germany .

My CFV-39 is on the way from Sveden to Germany . If everthing runs fine , I might get the back on the second or third of September .

I believe it , when I have the back in my hands .
But John , I am convinced , we will have wonderful birthday presents .
Hahaha .

Good luck to you as well .

it is now 2pm in NYC. I am supposed to receive my CFV 39 by 3:30 today

whoop!

IT JUST ARRIVED! WITH BATTERY AND CHARGER.

Congratulations!

There are at least two more waiting for their CFV39 DB.

It seems Hasselblads production after the holidays is starting to deliver a new badge of CFV39 backs.
Do not forget to check the tilt sensor.

Paul

yes, it has the tilt sensor under custom settings. options are auto, lock at 0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees. no idea what it is for.

iso options are 50, 100, 200, 400, 800

That is what quite a number of us are still trying to find out.

Tilt sensor was a running gag concerning an unlucky owner of one of the first CFVI digital backs.
The first CFV he received lived only two weeks the second came back stating tilt sensor etc.
That back refused any action with temperatures below 15° C.

It took a while for Hasselblad to deliver a good working digital back to this unfortunate owner.

John

Congratulation for your CFV-39 .

Your first images are impressive and promising .
My CFV-39 has not arrived yet , but at least I know my dealer will ship it today or tomorrow .

I thought , I read the tiltsensor settings were 30 , 60 , 90 .
That seems to be wrong , but still I woud like to know , what the settings are for . Hopefully , the user manaul will tell us more .

Jürgen

Nice work John.
I am sure Jürgen likes these shots too.
He is always interested in rusty steel lots.

Only thing missing here is club membership.
That allows you to upload larger files i.e. 1200x1200 pixels or 585 KB.

Thanks for sharing these early results with us.

Paul

I'm surprised to read more "CFV 39" posts in one month than "H" posts in one year !

Is it the same for the Hasselblad's sale dept. ?

For the 40 years of moon landing Hasselblad invited buyers of H 60 Mpix at cape carnaval, perhaps they should invite CFV-39 buyer at ... Woodstock for the 40 years !:)

Hi, jlm, the photos seem very clear, love the colors...

The JPEGs are sooooo small for me though... (My display is 2560x1600...) I assume that is because of limits HasselbladInfo will let you upload... (Bandwidth is expensive?)

My CFV-39 is supposed to arrive Saturday. As you might guess, I am looking forward to Saturday! :z04_carrot:

Assuming it arrives, I will post some samples as well for people to peruse.

Best regards,
-Brad

Larger uploads, in fact the largest compared with any other forum, are possible for club members.
Club members are able to upload unlimited amounts of files each maximum 1200x1200 pixels or 585 KB which ever comes first.

Membership is only 25 euro p.a.
Club members do not see any advertising as an extra bonus.

This is an offer you can't refuse!
