First production of 500C ?

First production of 500C

Well I waited a long time to get an exact 1960 lens. I got one with number 2597###. On Hasselbladhistorical.com I have no answer, but if I compare other numbers I must be centered between 1959 and 1961 (!)
However I just recieved the lens and disover a T* written in red on the barrel. So whats the bug here ? My other lenses of 1963 and 1965 are not T* and I understood the T* appear only in 1970. Was the 150mm/4.0 multi coated before other lenses ? Or my lens is a fake ?

Lenses with serial numbers beginning with 259 do not follow the regular serial number sequence - they can be made anytime between 1960 and 1980. The actual date of assembly may be marked by a rubber stamp code on the rear baffle at the back of the lens. The T* in this case may be because either the front element was replaced with a T* one or more likely that the front section of the barrel was replaced. Many of the replacement barrels (even silver ones) are marked T*.

Thanks for info. However no other number anywhere.

BTW back of my 1956 250mm lens it,s written: Made in Germany West for Hasselblad. Other lens does not mention Hasselblad.

For the fun I got this week a 1000F with a zeiss 250mm/5.6.... the same formula than today ones. Waiting for processing 3 films (220 one) made since

Well I have a silver 80mm of 1958 with bad lens and a black C-80mm T* lens of 1977 with broken shutter. Is it possible and easy to exchange lenses to get at least a wunderfull silver C 80mm 1958 lens ?
