First images with the 35mm HC on my H1 with 528C back. Very pleased with the sharpness and lack of distortion.

Personally, I prefer the mono images.

You can hear the steam and smell the coal fire smoke!

Lovely pictures - and it looks like an amazing lens!

Like the B&W versions more as well.

Lovely pictures!

And somehow steam engines (not just locomotives) are better in black&white.
Where are the pictures from?

Thanks all, the photos were taken on the Severn Valley Railway, this is a preserved railway which starts at Kidderminster in the Midlands, UK.

Ed, sometime you should plan a trip to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn Michigan. Their train collection is mind boggling and includes a working round house, not to mention monster mountain engines.

BTW, I personally like the color shots you posted just as much as the B&Ws ... your use of color is quite nice, and that specific train with its red paint is outstanding.

I'm sure Ed can find a similarly stunning collection closer to home: the British National Railway museum is nothing short of spectacular!
