Took a few images from just outside my front door to deternine how well the H10 will work as a 'digital poloroid' for me. The film shots were taken on FP4+ and developed in LC-29.

Biggest surprise for me was that the 50mm Digital image has almost the same AOV as the 80mm FF film image.

Phase One H10 Digital Back, 11MP frame size 24mm x 36mm (which can be fitted in landscape or portrait mode) which can be fitted directly to a V system camera. (price in 2003 was approx £17000 now can be had for much less than £1000).

Main downside is that you need a laptop/computer with a powered firewire(400 or 800) port (very few PC laptops have this capability) to use it. I use a macbook pro.

The thing that struck me the most was that AOV of the 50mm image shot on the digital back was almost identical to the AOV 80mm shot on the film showing that the crop factor of the back is approx 1.6x.

Yes 1000£ is more interesting than 17.000£ indeed :)

Ed, I have a question: do you think the blue car plate should not be read only in colour pictures? :):)

Actually I thought afterwards what point was there in blanking out the plates in the first place.
