Film Back / Magazine Compatibility

IMG_5624.JPG
  • Canon - Canon EOS 350D DIGITAL
  • 50.0 mm
  • ƒ/3.2
  • 1/125 sec
  • Auto exposure
  • ISO 100

On this picture, you see right at top a hole where I put a paper inside. Then the old back cann be used for all Hasselblad V.
Without this paper, the film does not move on reload.

I have a hunch this is not a Hasselblad filmback but a K... one.
These are not compatible with Hasselblad cameras and should not be used.

With or without the opening now blocked with a piece of paper should not make
any difference unless an early camera is used that has a pin coming out.

This back came with my 1000F 25 years ago. It worked fine. After I bought a 500CM new (20 years ago) I modified that way to use it with both camera without any problem. For years I used this back for all my 500 and 2000 and 202 cameras. I use this one nowaday too but I prefer 220 back or newer one (it's easier to arrive to number 1). It's the lonly one that never needed any repair (light entry)

Early backs including the K... ones had a different light seal that can be adjusted and rarely needs to be replaced.

It is a small wonder that this back worked on later cameras.

It works only if you put that paper. Elseway, the film does not move !
BTW, I cann't read anywhere "Hasselblad" in this back ! Perhaps I use it for allmost 30 years without knowing that it was an unusable copy of poor quality.

I have to return to the shop in Saigon to get explanations.

Why not spend a fraction of the cost going back to Saigon to become a member of the forum.
For only 25 euro a year you get better upload facilities, a chance to advertise any equipment you want to sell and most of all you support this forum.
To become a member that supports this forum just click CI Club in the right end of the top bar. It is as simple as that.
We are still writing results in red ink. Not a very healthy situation.

Back to your filmback.
It is a K... back and to me it is a miracle that you were able to use that with
bodies later than 1957.
The thing about the paper in the back is something I do not understand.
I am always glad to learn new tricks. This is one of them.

Of course going back to Saigon is a joke. :z04_carrot::z04_dance00::z04_carrot:
But subscribing to the forum is not! :z04_hinterherjagen::z02_mod_boese:

The forum needs the support of frequent users.
Consider it an opportunity to keep us afloat.
A whole year subscription is about the price of a 5 pack of 120 films.
Is that too much?
