Cfv Iso Upgrade

When I was at the FOCUS expo in Birmingham.
I was informed by hasselblad that there would be an upgrade which would allow for 400 asa.

Anyone know if this has happened yet, and if so:

Do I have to upgrade firmware via flexicolor. as I am trying to use PHOCUS most of time now, even with its quirks.

Suspect you meant 800 iso. At Focus, they informed me that the iso upgrade would not be in the first version of PHOCUS, but rather 1.2.

Don't know about you, but I've drifted back to Flexcolor which I find much quicker. Hope it's set right. I have 9Gb of Ram and recent Intel Pro with the upgraded graphics card. Not at production speed as far as I'm experiencing. Obviously much easier to use, but Flexcolor isn't a 'bad' interface.

Any advice?

Hmmm, what graphics card are you using my friend? Phocus is quite quick on my machine ... shooting tethered with a 39 meg back.

My CFV-II comes this week, and I have a job for it right away ... so I'll see if there is any difference.

It isn't really, really slow, but opening files is much quicker in Lightroom etc. Often it doesn't like the first attempt to open the file.

Flexcolor shuts down as soon as I try to import a file, but is fine without PHOCUS loaded. Can't see a need for going back to Flexcolor though, unless you tell me otherwise.

Hmm.

I am quite surprised to see Phocus on MacOSX sort-of requires a new graphics card?

The ones mentioned are more like OpenGL / 3D cards, the average gamer likes those. But for a simple 2D application like Phocus?

Tons of RAM in the system itself, sure, that makes sense, especially with the mammoth sized images of a high MP digiback.

I am confused..are you running both the 1900 and 7300 GCs? The 7300 is hopeless with Phocus. I upgraded to the ATI 2600 and that made a huge difference. The 2600, IIRC, is $170 from Apple.

Steve, I just copied the System Info, so perhaps I am. I purchased the card with the Intel machine last September and can't remember if it was already installed, but suspect maybe not. It's very rare for me to open the box.

I installed an additional 8 gig and closed it for good, I hoped. :)

Should the 7300 card be removed ?

I am no expert but...Open the box and see what is installed and what the monitor is hooked up to. The 1900 is a double wide card and the 7300 is single slot. Sounds like you are running on the 7300..IIRC, the 1900 has about the same performance as the 2600...but after reading reviews on the Apple site people complained of the card running very hot and poor reliability.

When I first installed Phocus, with the 7300, it ran so slowly that I went back to Flexcolor. The ATI 7600 made a hugh difference.

111) PHOCUS can be run with MAC G4 processors . ! ! !
222) It is recommended to use the nVIDIA geforce 8800GT GC .

How can a G4 architecture be supplied with a PCIe card ? ? ?

I don't know , because even my G5 MAC will not be able to use a PCIe card .

You were right - both cards and I was running off the 7300 !! (red face)

So much quicker all round. Many thanks.

It can't. The 8800GT will only run on the latest generation Mac Pro. For the previous gen. only the ATI .1900 and 2600 are available. A down side to Mac is the limited GC options.
